The Flying Cloud Academy hosts a minimum of two elegant period balls per season. All are open the public. Beginning as well as experienced dancers, singles and couples, are welcome. Unless otherwise stated, evening festivities are held at the Wyoming Fine Arts Center, 322 Wyoming Ave., Cincinnati, OH. Period costume is admired, but not required. For those new to vintage dance, contemporary formal attire is also appropriate for balls. Leather-soled or soft-soled shoes are recommended. Our events feature period music by local orchestras. Light refreshments are served.
Upcoming balls:
April 18, 2026 - Please join us for our America 250 Liberty Ball on Saturday, April 18, from 8:00 - 11:00 pm. We will host the ball at the Wyoming Fine Arts Center. Live music by Joyous Occasions, precepting by Tom Tumbusch. Cost is $25; $20 for academy members and students (appetizers included). Colonial/Regency attire is admired but certainly not required! Academy membership is $50.00 per year, and includes discounts to balls and reduced-rate Wednesday evening classes during the Sept.-May season. Please click on our Join tab on the top bar for more information.

PAST BALLS
In the spring of 2023 we held a Bridgerton themed Regency Era ball. What a grand time it was. If you would like to revisit this event with some videos and pictures from that ball click HERE.
Victorian Garden Ball - On March 24, 2024 we looked forward to spring by holding a Victorian Garden ball. Richard Powers precepted and live music was provided by Joyous Occasions. We enjoyed an evening of Waltz, Polka, Quadrilles and more.
