The Flying Cloud Academy hosts a minimum of two elegant period balls per season. All are open the public. Beginning as well as experienced dancers, singles and couples, are welcome. Unless otherwise stated, evening festivities are held at the Wyoming Fine Arts Center, 322 Wyoming Ave., Cincinnati, OH. Period costume is admired, but not required. For those new to vintage dance, contemporary formal attire is also appropriate for balls. Leather-soled or soft-soled shoes are recommended. Our events feature period music by local orchestras. Light refreshments are served.

Academy membership is $50.00 per year, and includes discounts to balls and reduced-rate Wednesday evening classes during the Sept.-March season. Please click on our Join tab on the top bar for more information.

April 26, 2025 - We celebrate the 200th anniversary of General Lafyette’s visit to Cincinnati. This French hero of the revolutionary war toured the United States and, in the Spring of 1825, he arrived in Cincinnati. He was greeted by tens of thousands; there were speeches, dinners and, of course, balls in his honor. You can read all about it HERE. Come join us in the recreation of that celebration as we host a grand ball in his honor. Period music will be provided by Joyous Occasions. The ball will run from 8 to 11 at the Glendale Lyceum. The cost for this ball is still TBD..

PAST BALLS
Victorian Garden Ball - On March 23, 2023 we looked forward to spring by holding a Victorian Garden ball. Richard Powers precepted and live music was provided by Joyous Occasions. We enjoyed an evening of Waltz, Polka, Quadrilles and more. The ball was held at the Wyoming Fine Arts Center, 322 Wyoming Ave, Cincinnati OH 45215 from 8:00 to 11:00.
