Come join us for an exciting weekend of Balboa, Foxtrot, Waltz and Tango. We are delighted to host talented teachers Nick and Melissa Enge, who bring their high energy teaching style in from Texas to lead 8 workshops over the weekend. No prior vintage dance experience is necessary as all classes will start at the beginner level. On Saturday night, we will be treated to the music of Matt Tolentino and his New Liberty Dance Orchestra as we turn the Wyoming Fine Arts Center ballroom into a jazz era speakeasy.

All events will be held in the ballroom of the Wyoming Fine Arts Center, 322 Wyoming Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45215
COVID Precautions
Due to the ongoing COVID pandemic, all will be required to show proof of a negative COVID home test taken on the day of registration. Masking policy can not be determined since it will depend on the masking policy of the Wyoming Fine Arts Center at the time (CDC and Hamilton County Public Health policies will also be considered in this decision).
Registration Information
Pre-registration is required. Space is limited to 66 people, lead/follow role balanced. Please fill out one form per person (below).
To be confirmed, we must receive your payment via PayPal, credit or debit card. We must be able to match you with another person dancing the opposite lead/follow role, so we encourage you to specify a partner on your registration form. If you do not specify a partner, we will put you on a wait list and match you with a dancer of the opposite dance role in order of registration. We will notify you when we confirm your registration.
The cost for the weekend will be $75 ($60 for students) and will include all the events listed in the schedule above. The optional box lunch is an additional $10.
Registrations may be cancelled up to October 10, 2022 for a full refund. After that, the payment is non-refundable unless there is an applicant on the wait list who is able to take your spot. We will accept registrations until November 4, 2022.
Note, in the event that we need to cancel the weekend for public health or logistic reasons, all payments will be refunded.
Our Instructors
The Band Leader
Nick & Melissa Enge
Nick and Melissa Enge are social dance instructors and historians at the University of Texas at Austin. Before teaching at UT, they studied and taught with Richard Powers at Stanford University. In collaboration with Richard, they have written two books on social dance, Waltzing: A Manual for Dancing and Living and Cross-Step Waltz: A Dancer’s Guide, and they are currently working on a third, called The Book of Mixers. In addition to teaching and writing about dance, Nick and Melissa are co-founders of the Library of Dance, a website that features an annotated bibliography of over 6,500 primary sources relating to social dance from the 15th century to present, as well as over 1,700 videos demonstrating selected dance steps and more than 300 web pages describing various social dances throughout history.
Matt Tolentino
Matt Tolentino is dedicated to preserving ragtime, traditional jazz, and early swing. He is the leader of The Matt Tolentino Band, The Singapore Slingers, The New Liberty Dance Orchestra, and The Royal Klobasneks, a traditional "old time" polka band. All of the music is authentic, upbeat, and fun.
